Lila Villasenor, also known as Scar in the Jungle, is a Filipino-American composer, electronic musician, producer, and violinist whose work intersects contemporary classical music, electronica, dark ambient and experimental music.

Born and raised in the Tri-State Area, Lila’s artistic lens was shaped early on by the classical performances of her cousins, her mother’s love of singing, film scores, and NYC’s bustling visual art and performance scene. Lila furthered her composition and violin studies at Bard Conservatory’s summer program and Mannes School of Music (The New School), studying composition with Dr. Steven Sacco. She additionally studied violin privately with Olga Dusheina. As a teenager, Lila performed as a soloist with the Rockland Symphony Orchestra and at venues such as Kodak Hall and Carnegie Hall. At seventeen, she was named a finalist in the Great American Song Contest in the instrumental composition category.

Lila later earned her Bachelor of Music in Film and Media Scoring from Berklee College of Music as a recipient of the Berklee World Tour Scholarship. During her time at Berklee, she studied with violinist Dr. Chelsey Green, composer Dr. Andrew List, and Emmy Award-winning composer Lenny Williams. She served as associate concertmaster and orchestra manager of the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra, combining her background as a performer with her growing practice as a composer for screen and media.

Since 2022, Lila has composed for independent film, television, and multimedia projects, developing a musical language centered around atmosphere, the human psyche, and storytelling.

In October 2026, she will release her debut studio album under the alias Scar in the Jungle. Drawing from ambience, heavy synth writing, field recording, and contemporary classical techniques, Lila’s project explores the influence of social conditioning, trauma cycles, mental illness, isolation, and where memory and reality begin to blur.
